I was doing somersaults when I saw this, it is a "Retail" edition Sedgemoor-Sedgemoors usually only come in carbon black, a shiny polyester material. These are cool, v thin on ground and come up v rarely. But this "Retail"as per tag-"Retail" would seem to be a range, like Dept.B, Gold Standard etc is wax, with cotton lining and wool edging around inner zip area, same as Tokitos. Is higher standard and more luxurious than the carbon, as the few Retails available tend to be-eg Beauforts in beeswax mottled finish (with same cotton check lining as this, not usual Barbour tartan in polyester/whatever)-they're common as unicorns. Stopped in mid somersault to contemplate Hara Kiri when, after taking chance on this Large, it was too big.
There's the tease-Barbour sizes are so weird, depending on age, market eg US, UK, Japan, it's only slightly too big eg a big medium/small large although comes up as 24 pit to pit, which seems almost normal for a large, but just missed fitting me and I'm a medium in anyone's language. Maybe it's'cause the coat has a semi-"duster" back panel and this alters way shoulders slope visually? As you've probably worked out by now, I'm a Barbour Perv, chase the Longshoreman's, Tokitos, Beauchamps etc-so while you wouldn't want to get stuck in a lift with me, I do know what I'm talking about. This is excellent imo and excellent used condition-but is used+is not new, likely issued a good while ago, although 0 flaws.I'd say it's mid to heavy weight, YKK/Barbour zips, little cloth loops by inner sleeve, dunno whether this is to attach furry liner? Pockets are lined, even large back pocket in same check as coat inner, which is 100% cotton with 70% wool /30% polyamide grey trim, which goes around hood also. The bottom 10 of coat lining is smooth material (to wipe clean any splashes coming from ground direction)+ coat has leather tipped pull cords at waist, hood and base. I'm spreading it on thick, but imo this is an excellent unicorn of a clothing item, has too many details for the 12 pics I'm allowed, but not overkill details like in a goretex jacket ie cringe ripcords and little daft tunnels to feed your earphone leads thru. This is-imo- PURE CLASS+you have more chance of seeing Elvis at the food bank than another of these, the carbon 1s are hard enough to find. For anyone who hasn't owned Barbour before: you can prolong jacket life by rewaxing-wax on this one fine-and they tend to develop distinctive patina over time. The wax can lend item an earthy smell-which I like-and the good ones last ages. So thanks for looking got a load of other stuff up too Inc rarities and similar. If you're outside UK likely you'll have to pay import charges. If I RM not apt, I reserve right to use other courier.
